Holidaymakers overwhelmingly support a ban on alcohol on and before early morning flights, a new survey reveals.

Almost three quarters of respondents to research conducted by World Travel Market, which opens today, said such a measure was a positive move to curb air rage.

More than a quarter of the 1,000 people surveyed said they had experienced a disruptive passenger on a flight.

Low-cost carrier Jet2.com announced a ban on the sale of alcohol on its early morning flights after aviation minister Lord Ahmad said in July that he would look at the times when drinks were on sale.

The decision was backed by 73% of the WTM poll respondents, The Daily Telegraph reported.
