AmaWaterways is rolling out its golf package programme to international markets following a successful trial in the UK.

Speaking at the luxury river line’s annual WTM dinner, UK managing director Stuart Perl (pictured) said he had been working exclusively with operator LGT Golf to introduce the programme which has been on sale for this year and next since Perl set up the UK office at the tail end of 2016.

The golf offering appears in the 2018 brochure for the first time with sailings on the Danube and Rhine paired with land stays. Durations of nine or 10 nights are available.

After “huge appeal and success” in the UK market, it will now be sold globally.

“It’s definitely appealing to a great audience for us, some of which have never cruised before. After trailing it here in the UK market it will be rolled out.

“I’m absolutely delighted this has been such a success and we’ve forged a great partnership with LGT Golf.”

Kristin Karst, co-owner of AmaWaterways, also announced the line’s intention to roll out its wellness programme across its entire fleet.

After a trial on a single ship, the line is now planning to feature the wellness programme on six more ships next year, ensuring one ship on each river is offering it, before rolling it out fleetwide for 2019.

The wellness sessions include normal yoga, champagne yoga, as well as stretch and bend classes.
