50th Anniversary Globe Travel Awards open for nominations
The 2027 Travel Weekly Globe Travel Awards have opened for nominations and voting, as the countdown begins to the 50th anniversary edition of the UK’s biggest celebration of the travel industry.
Next year’s event will represent the unofficial start to the new year on January 14, with a sell-out audience of more than 1,200 guests expected at London’s JW Marriott Grosvenor House hotel on Park Lane.
As is traditional, the awards will honour suppliers ranging from tour operators and airlines to cruise lines, destinations and ancillary providers, while the UK’s top supplier representative will also be unveiled.
New this year is an award for Best Villa Company, recognising the best villa providers and operators in a rapidly expanding sector.
Special awards will also be presented to individuals and brands – including the Outstanding Achievement and Unsung Hero categories and those honouring commitment to sustainability, inclusivity and staff wellbeing and development.
Nominations for the supplier awards are open to frontline travel sellers in the UK and Ireland until September 23, with voting opening on November 4.
Lucy Huxley, editor-in-chief of Travel Weekly, said: “The Globe Travel Awards have always been about honouring those who make our industry so special – and reaching the 50th anniversary gives us even more reason to celebrate.
