AE Expeditions has put its Northern Hemisphere itineraries on sale for 2028, featuring a new voyage style of Cultural Expeditions.
Douglas Mawson and Sylvia Earle will offer 16 Polar Expedition, six Discovery Expeditions and seven Cultural Expeditions during the season, which will visit 161 ports across the Arctic, Europe and Central America.
The new Cultural Expeditions have been developed as “a distinct third expedition pillar” alongside Polar and Discovery.
Each itinerary is built around history and stories connecting each region following a strong central narrative, such as The Cross and the Crescent Moon following Islamic and Christian influences on Spain and Morocco, and Coasting the Atlantic following stories of explorers, pilgrims, traders and wartime on Europe’s western coast.
A highlighted Cultural Expedition is the 11-day The Isles of the British Isles on Sylvia Earle which departs on April 19 from London to Dublin, which leads in from £9,536.
A new Polar Expedition itinerary is the 11-day Norwegian Fjords & Svalbard Explorer on Sylvia Earle on June 8 which costs from £11,149.
A new Discovery Expeditions itinerary is the 14-day Northern Lights & Wild Isles: Iceland, Greenland to Scotland on Douglas Mawson departing on September 23, priced from £11,934.
Agents can save up to 25% for clients when booking Northern Hemisphere 2028 expeditions by October 31, 2026.
Justin Ewin, global head of product, said: “The 2028 season gives travellers three distinct ways to explore, from the remote wilderness and extraordinary wildlife of our Polar Expeditions to active Discovery journeys and the deeper cultural immersion of our newest voyage style.
“Across every itinerary, the experience remains distinctly AE Expeditions: purpose-built small ships, expert-led exploration, more meaningful time off ship and a responsible approach to discovering the world’s most remarkable places.”
He added: “Cultural Expeditions broaden the possibilities of expedition travel while remaining true to everything AE Expeditions stands for: small ships, expert interpretation, genuine discovery and meaningful connections with the places we visit.
“They bring AE Expeditions pioneering spirit to destinations rich in history, tradition and local character, inviting travellers to look beyond the landmarks and uncover the people and stories that have shaped each place.”
