Aer Lingus reports fall in long-haul passenger numbers

Overall passenger carryings for the month were up by 3% to 1.1 million with short-haul numbers rising by 1.1% to 931,000.

The Irish carrier’s regional arm handled 78,000 passengers in July, up 47% year on year. 

Aer Lingus’s booked load factor declined by 1.1 points on July 2010 to 84.7%.

The short-haul load factor was 83.7%, down by 0.3 points on July 2010, with capacity increasing by 2.6%.

The long-haul load factor was down by 3 points to 86.8%, with capacity decreasing by 0.5%.
