Aito confirms three new members to ‘further strengthen diverse membership’

Three independent tour operators have joined the Specialist Travel Association (Aito) as the organisation continues to grow its niche sector footprint.

The arrivals of Golf Holidays by Morgan, Odyssey World and Mabey Ski follow Premier Holidays and Steppes Travel, which were confirmed as new members in the last year.

Executive director Martyn Sumners described the additions as “a positive reflection of the strength and importance of the specialist travel sector”.

He said: “I am confident that growth in this sector will continue as we see more applications going forward.

“As the travel landscape becomes increasingly complex, bringing together businesses with different specialisms creates opportunities to share knowledge, address common challenges and raise standards across the industry.

“The calibre and diversity of these new members also reflects our focus on building a membership that represents the breadth of specialist travel today. That collective expertise ultimately benefits both our members and the customers they serve.”

Morgan Clarke of Golf Holidays by Morgan said Aito was “the most relevant trade association” for the independent operator.

“The advice and support provided during the recent Iran crisis was particularly valuable and the regular events and networking opportunities are designed specifically for SME tour operators,” he added.

“We are also joining the Aito Financial Protection Scheme, which offers a straightforward and efficient solution that aligns well with the needs of our business.”

Felicia Severns from Odyssey World said the operator decided to join to “connect more closely with industry peers”.

She said: “Aito stood out because of the calibre of its members and the sense of collaboration across the association.

“Being part of a network that encourages the sharing of knowledge, experience and best practice is increasingly valuable and we’re looking forward to contributing to those conversations.”

Aito currently represents more than 100 of the UK’s independent tour operators.
