Alaska Airlines confirms London route start date 

Alaska Airlines has confirmed the start date of it first flights to London.

The carrier will begin a daily year-round service between Seattle and Heathrow on May 21, 2026, after confirming the route launch in August.  

Tickets for the new route, the airline’s fifth long-haul route from Seattle, went on sale yesterday (Wednesday).

New summer seasonal routes to Rome and Reykjavik start on April 28 and May 28 respectively.

The airline’s expanding Seattle hub already serves Tokyo and Seoul.

Three-class Boeing 787-9 aircraft will be deployed on the London route, with ultra-fast Starlink wi-fi to be introduced from autumn next year.

The airline said: “By 2030, we plan to serve at least 12 intercontinental destinations from Seattle, with additional routes to be announced in the years to come. 

"We currently have four Boeing 787-9s in our fleet, with a fifth aircraft recently delivered.

“Flight times for our Seattle-London route will allow guests to spend a whole day in either city before boarding their flights – a potential benefit for business travellers. 

"London is the largest corporate market from Seattle. Alaska will operate out of London Heathrow’s Terminal 3, which facilitates convenient connections to additional destinations across Europe and beyond on Oneworld member airlines and our additional global partners.”
