American Airlines resumes fourth daily London-New York flight for 2027

American Airlines is boosting capacity between London and New York next summer.

A fourth daily flight on the flagship route between Heathrow and New York JFK comes as part of an expanded long-haul schedule for 2027.

The additional service starts on March 28 operated by Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner aircraft.    

The airline had trimmed the route down to three daily flights for the winter 2025-26 schedule.

The US carrier’s north Atlantic collaboration with British Airways means the two airlines will run up to 14 daily flights next year between London and New York – claimed to be more than any other airline partnership.

American Airlines said: “London is one of the most important cities for premium travellers, and American is proud to serve as the largest US airline in the market. 

“In 2027, the airline will increase its presence in London with the reintroduction of a fourth daily flight between JFK and LHR.”

The carrier is adding seven long-haul routes next summer including New York-Amsterdam and Nice, Philadelphia-Porto, Reykjavik and Vienna, and Charlotte-Barcelona.
