Auria Travel has hired Rocky Mountaineer’s Daniel Symons to lead expansion of its homeworking division.
He has been appointed as business development manager to support continued growth of the homeworking arm.
Symons will join the business at the end of March from the North American tourist train company where he was a sales specialist for the UK and Europe.
In his new role, he will focus on overseeing the development of Auria Travel’s homeworking division, supporting the company’s growing network of self-employed travel partners, while also leading recruitment of new agents.
Auria Travel, founded by Markus Kendall-Young, combines a retail presence in Ashby-de-la-Zouch, Leicestershire, with a bookable online platform and a network of homeworking travel agents.
Kendall-Young said: “We’re delighted to welcome Daniel to Auria Travel.
“His experience working with the travel trade and building strong industry relationships will be invaluable as we continue to grow our travel partner network.
“Our homeworking division has been expanding rapidly, and Daniel’s role will be key in supporting our partners and ensuring we continue to attract talented travel professionals who want the flexibility to build their own successful travel businesses.”
Symons added: “I’m really excited to be joining Auria Travel at such an exciting stage of its journey.
“The travel partner model offers a fantastic opportunity for experienced travel professionals and I’m looking forward to supporting partners in growing their businesses while helping expand the network further.”
