Avis unveils Web upgrade

AVIS Europe has launched the first phase of an upgrade programme to its Web site that will eventually allow travel agents to make on-line bookings.

 

This first phase lets customers obtain quotes and make car-hire bookings for any destination in the world.

 

The second stage involves developing extranets with key trade partners such as Thomas Cook, timeshare exchange specialist RCI and British Airways, enabling Avis to carry out business with them on-line

 

A completion date for the final phase of the programme – offering agents Internet booking facilities – has not yet been set. For more details, log on to www.avis.co.uk
