Bath tipped to win ballot for president

BATH Travel managing director Stephen Bath and Multiple Travel Agents' Association chairman Brian Axon-Boyes have been confirmed as the only candidates running for the presidency of ABTA.

 

Results from a ballot of the 18 board members will be announced this week. Bath is tipped for the role.

 

Meanwhile, ABTA aviation committee chairman Sandy MacPherson has been elected chairman of the council of regions, with Doug Wardle elected vice-chairman.

 

Both will join the main board which met for the first time last Wednesday.

 

n ABTAhas extended the deadline for agents claiming lost commission due to airlines illegally excluding the Passenger Service Charge frompayments. The Court of Appeal is expected to decide this week whether up to £60m in back payments will be paid to agents by airlines including British Airways and Virgin Atlantic.
