BAto unveil KLMstrategy

BRITISHAirways is set to announce details of its planned merger with Dutch flag carrier KLM this month.

 

 

The UK airline is expected to set out the size of the stake it wants in KLM – it is thought to be up to 80%.

 

 

Network strategies and hub plans will also be unveiled. Staff at both airlines fear that 16,000 positions may be lost through integration.

 

 

n BA launches daily Heathrow-Cape Town flights today. The increase from the previous six-a-week schedule was made possible after BA took a service off Virgin Atlantic after winning a new flights’ appeal (Travel Weekly May 1).
