Big band to come of age atWTM

THE ‘big band' atmosphere of the 1920s is to be recreated at World Travel Market's ‘Coming of Age' party.

 

The event, sponsored by Hilton, will mark WTM's 21st birthday and promises to entertain a thousand guests with dancers, singers, speciality performers and two dance bands.

 

WTM exhibition director Fiona Jeffery said: "It's going to capture the ‘big band' atmosphere of the twenties, with the revelry of ragtime; the dancing and singing of Broadway; the sultry atmosphere of an Art Deco nightclub and the star quality glamour of a ‘Marlene Dietrich' style diva.

 

The party will be held on Wednesday, November 15 at the centrally heated 85 metre tented structure at the British Genius site in London's Battersea.
