Blair backs London’s Olympic bid

backing to London’s bid to host the 2012 Olympic Games.

Culture Media and Sport Secretary Tessa Jowell made the announcement to the House of Commons this afternoon.

If the bid is successful, it will be a massive boost for London’s tourism industry.

Likely competitors to London’s bid include New York, Madrid, Moscow and Paris. The International Olympic Committee will make its final decision by July 15.
