Brilliant Travel hosts more than 100 delegates at Leeds conference

Barrhead Travel’s Brilliant Travel division hosted more than 100 delegates at its annual conference, held last week in Leeds for the first time.

Linda Pyle, Brilliant Travel director, said the conference featured a refreshed format which put “collaboration front and centre” for the homeworkers and Managed Partners, plus supplier partners and head office staff.

“Our theme was ‘Working Together - Growing Together’ as working with our suppliers and their continued support is invaluable to the business growth of our Managed Partners and homeworkers,” she said.

“The conference was an opportunity to build on these relationships and creating new ones, sharing business ideas for further growth.

“There’s a culture of collaboration and kindness across the board at Brilliant Travel – and a definite buzz around what we can achieve by working more closely together.”

The first day featured closed sessions from the leadership team at Brilliant and Barrhead, noting a “really strong performance” in lates, added Pyle.

The second day saw a ‘takeover’ at Holiday House – the head office in Leeds for Jet2 and sister operator Jet2holidays.

There were presentations on accessibility, social media and search engine optimisation plus a Jet2holidays product showcase with teams from Cities, Vibe, Luxury, Villas, and Indulgent Escapes.

Pyle said the feedback from agents and suppliers was “excellent”, thanks to the content, joint activities and networking.

She will retire at the end of June, bringing her 45-year career in travel to a close. Business development manager Dan Steabler will be promoted to the role of Brilliant Travel director on July 1.
