The site has been developed because the car rental company’s Internet portal is run by its US headquarters and has been designed for the US domestic market, making it very complicated to book car hire outside the country.

Vice president sales and marketing Roeland Moens said: “It was too difficult to change the main site, so we have created an international version. It has been launched in the UK, Germany and France as these are our big sources of business, and will be available in Spain this week. The next sites will be in Austria, Switzerland and Italy.”
