Celestyal outlines first western Med sailings

Celestyal is to run its first series of dedicated western Mediterranean sailings for the winter.

Celestyal Discovery will sail a repositioning ‘Mediterranean Riviera’ itinerary from Athens to Tarragona for Barcelona on November 28.

The 1,360-passenger ship will then operate two ‘Mediterranean Odyssey’, voyages before a return repositioning sailing departing on January 2, 2027.

For winter 2027-28, the first repositioning cruise will depart Athens on November 19, 2027.

The ship will then operate six ‘Mediterranean Odyssey’ voyages, before returning from Tarragona on February 19, 2028.  

The line recently confirmed the extension of its current eastern Mediterranean season following the cancellation of Arbian Gulf sailings for winter 2026-27.

Plans for winter 2027-28 by sister ship Celestyal Journey will be announced in due course, according to the company.

This winter’s programme includes a new 14-night itinerary that combines Spain, Portugal and Morocco. 

Celestyal Discovery will make 14 maiden calls across the region as part of the new deployment.

“Alongside the overnight stays in Barcelona and Lisbon we’ve included hidden gems such as Sète and extended time ashore, allowing guests to connect even more with the destinations they visit.

“Whether guests choose a seven-night voyage between Barcelona and Lisbon, or our flagship 14-night Mediterranean Odyssey, they’ll experience the authentic western Mediterranean through the eyes of a cruise line that has always placed destinations at the heart of the journey.”
