Cendant acquires Galileo

US HOTEL chain and car rental specialist Cendant has acquired global distribution supplier Galileo in a deal worth $2.9 billion.
Galileo revealed last November it was in talks with financial advisers over its future.
The acquisition is subject to approval from regulators and Galileo’s shareholders, although this is expected to be granted.
