C&NTouristic to make bid verdict

C&N TOURISTIC is expected to decide this week whether to launch an official bid for Thomson.

 

It follows talks with the City's Takeover Panel which urged the German firm to clarify its line as soon as possible.

 

The two parties have been in a stalemate since Thomson rejected C&N's indicative offer of 145p a share.

 

C&N said it will not pay over the odds and stressed it was ‘highly unlikely' it would launch a hostile bid.

 

The operator is likely to turn its attention to First Choice if it walks away from Thomson.
