CONCORDE ROARS AGAIN

British Airways and Air France have put their faith in a travel industry recovery by announcing Concorde flights will resume on November 7.

The carriers will introduce a reduced service to New York of five and four weekly flights from London Heathrow and Paris respectively.

BA is to also restart flights to Barbados between December 1 and April 13 with a weekly service.

Tickets leading-in at around £6,000 have gone on sale for the three hours and 20 minutes transatlantic flight.

BA said work continues on a fourth Concorde to upgrade safety. Three of the airline’s seven supersonic jets have already been fitted with stronger tyres and rubber-lined fuel tanks.

The world’s two Concorde fleets were grounded in July 2000 after an Air France jet crashed in Paris.
