deaths reported following milan airport incident

A TOTAL of 114 people are reported to have died following an incident involving two aircraft at Milan/Linate airport in Italy.

According to reports from the BBC, Scandinavian Airlines flight SK 686 destined for Copenhagen struck a baggage handling building as it was preparing to take off in heavy fog. It is believed the SAS flight was trying to avoid a Cessna aircraft that cut across its path.

A spokesman for SAS confirmed there had been casualties following an incident involving one of its MD87 aircraft and that it had 110 people on board.
