DELTA Air Lines is axing its Delta Express low-fares brand to make way for a new higher profile low-cost airline.
The start-up carrier launches next year on initial routes between the northeast US and Florida using a fleet of Boeing 757s.
The name, onboard products and service style will be revealed in the next few months.
Delta said it will be using its advanced direct-sell technology to sell tickets on the new carrier, which is likely to mean travel agents will barely be selling the airline.
