Designer Travel ties knot to create Wedding Travel Company partnership

Designer Travel is to work with the Wedding Travel Company (TWTC) to provide a complete travel booking service for friends and family attending overseas ceremonies.

TWTC specialises in providing couples with a personalised wedding concierge service, helping them select and organise overseas venues and individual components.

The new partnership extends that service to wedding guests without requiring TWTC to build its own large travel reservations operation.

Once a couple has booked their overseas wedding with TWTC, they will be encouraged to create a dedicated WhatsApp or email group for guests planning to attend. 

Designer Travel can then assist those guests with their individual travel requirements, including flights, accommodation and holiday arrangements.

The partnership allows each company to concentrate on its specialist expertise. It will initially focus on TWTC’s existing overseas wedding customers, with both businesses expecting the relationship to expand as wedding volumes grow.

TWTC, chaired by industry entrepreneur Steve Endacott (pictured, centre), remains focused on the bride and groom and the organisation of their overseas wedding, while Designer Travel looks after the potentially much larger group of friends and family travelling to the destination.

Luke Natham, co-founder of the company, said: "An overseas wedding isn’t simply about the bride and groom because in many cases there may be 20, 30 or even 50 guests travelling with them. Our expertise is organising the wedding itself and providing the couple with the personal service they need, but we also want their guests to receive the same level of care when arranging their travel.

"Working with Designer Travel gives us an experienced travel partner that can look after those guests individually, while allowing our wedding coordinators to remain focused on delivering the wedding."

The partnership also creates a new source of customer enquiries for Designer Travel, with guests often turning their trip into a longer holiday or requiring different airports, durations, hotels and room arrangements.

The agency’s managing director Amanda Matthews said: "Overseas weddings are a perfect fit for the personalised service our travel experts provide.

“Although everybody is attending the same wedding, their individual travel requirements can be completely different, so having somebody who can discuss those requirements and find the right holiday arrangements adds considerable value."
