Elite Travel member Beverly Lindsay awarded Damehood in Birthday Honours

Elite Travel member Dame Beverly Lindsay has been awarded a Damehood in the King’s Birthday Honours List for her outstanding services to business and the community.

The honour recognises her journey and dedication to creating opportunities for others across the West Midlands.

Dame Beverly arrived in Birmingham from Jamaica in the 1960s to complete her secondary education.

After becoming a teenage single mother, she initially pursued a career in nursing, midwifery and community engagement.

She later established her own travel company, Diamond Travel, helping pave the way for greater diversity and representation across the business and travel sectors.

Beyond her business achievements, Dame Beverly has had a notable civic career, serving as the first Afro-Caribbean woman President of Birmingham Rotary Club.

She has also served as Deputy Lieutenant and Vice Lord Lieutenant of the West Midlands.

She has been a member of the Elite Travel network since 1999 and since then has “built deep relationships across the consortium and remained a source of inspiration through her professionalism and entrepreneurial spirit”.

Dame Beverly previously received an OBE in 2011 for her services to the community and business.

Elite said her elevation to Dame Commander “further acknowledges her extraordinary contribution to public life, entrepreneurship and charitable causes across the region”.
