Farmers highlight foot and mouth dangers at Gatwick

FARMERS have been highlighting the dangers of spreading foot and mouth disease by importing infected food at Gatwick airport.

A group of farmers gathered at the airport earlier today to hand out leaflets and warn travellers of the potential threat.

A Gatwick spokesman said reports there had been a large-scale demonstration were inaccurate. He said only eight farmers took part and they had been given permission by airport authorities to congregate on the site.
