First Choice whispers denied

INDUSTRY experts have played down speculation that German giant C&NTouristic is to launch a takeover bid for First Choice.

 

 

Neither company would comment officially, although sources said the rumours were without foundation.

 

 

C&N is believed to have held talks with Airtours and a deal between those two groups is thought more likely. “There’s no way C&N could come in for First Choice without the co-operation of the UK company’s new partners, Royal Caribbean Cruises and Barcelo,” said one analyst.

 

 

“A deal with Airtours is more logical but it may take time. Airtours chairman David Crossland will not want to give up control of the company.”
