Five killed in crash with wild elephants

Two others in SUVs were injured after they ran into the elephants in the Thai jungle just short of the Cambodian border.

One vehicle with four people came off the road after hitting an elephant in the Khao Anglunai Wildlife Preserve, killing the male driver and a woman passenger.

A third tourist died later in hospital.

The elephant suffered a broken leg and was later put down by vets.

Seconds later, a six-wheel Isuzu truck also crashed as a Toyota Vigo pick-up rammed into the back of it, the Mirror reported.

The pick-up driver was killed and three others were injured. One of the passengers died later.

The nationality of the dead was unknown.
