Florida sees 1% rise in UK visitors

FLORIDA Tourism has reported a 1% rise in UK visitors last year, with figures reaching 1.48 million.

 

 

Around 1.1 million of the total went to Orlando. UK tour operators originally forecast a downturn in volumes to Florida for last year. The general consensus was that people were holding off on long-haul travel last year in favour of a trip of a lifetime this year.

 

 

However, a Florida Tourism spokeswoman said there had been a rise in independent travel to the state last year. She added that the expansion of theme park product had attracted repeat visitors.
