The Foreign Office has updated its travel advice for Cyprus as the conflict between US, Israel and Iran continues.
The updated information says terrorist attacks in the country “cannot be ruled out” but does not recommend against travel there.
The full statement in the section on safety and security for travel to Cyprus said: “Terrorist attacks in Cyprus cannot be ruled out.
“Attacks could be indiscriminate, including in places visited by foreign nationals.”
The advice in relation to terror attacks is still less definitive than for other countries in the eastern Mediterranean and Middle East.
Other advice reads that regional escalation “poses significant security risks and has led to travel disruption”.
It recommended British nationals should sign up to Foreign Office Travel Advice email alerts, monitor local and international media for the latest information, keep departure plans under review and ensure travel documents are up to do date.
