Former AETA member sets up trust fund

ASSOCIATION of European Travel Agents former member EasyWay Travel has created a new trust fund for independent retailers.

The Wellingborough-based coach tour and self-drive operator has set up European Travel Management for ex-AETA members who are now without a trust fund following its collapse last month. Supplies from tour operators such as Jetset, Bluebird, Bales and Vacation USA have been negotiated, and agents will be asked to pay £150 joining fee, plus a £50 per month management fee.

Easy Way Travel managing director Charles Saunby dismissed fears agents would not trust a fund set up by a former AETA member, saying all money will be handled by chartered accountants.
