G Adventures to resume Jordan departures

G Adventures is to resume Jordan departures from August after a three-month pause due to the conflict in the Middle East.

The move follows similar decisions by Intrepid Travel and Exodus Adventure Travels since the Foreign Office (FCDO) relaxed its advice against all but essential travel to the destination.

The tour operator said the move would allow customers to once again explore destinations such as Petra, Wadi Rum, the Dead Sea, and the ancient city of Jerash, with its 18 Jordan tours resuming on August 1, 2026.

G Adventures chief operating officer Michelle Hudema said: “We’ve always been quick to return to destinations as soon as it is safe to do so, because we’ve seen time and again the vital role tourism plays in supporting local communities and livelihoods.”

Hudema added that Jordan held “a special place” for the operator, arguing there had “never been a better time” to visit the destination.

She noted: “Following our GX Summit in September 2025, we welcomed new communities and local partners into our tours and supply chain, and we’re eager to resume operations and continue creating opportunities through the power of sustainable travel.

“Late summer and autumn are fantastic seasons to visit, whether you’re looking to hike sections of the ancient Jordan Trail or join one of our adventures designed exclusively for solo travellers.

“By choosing to travel to Jordan, our travellers can enjoy an unforgettable experience while helping ensure tourism continues to deliver meaningful benefits to the people and communities who depend on it.”

Meanwhile, Intrepid plans to restart trips to Jordan later this month and Exodus Adventure is resuming its trips from July.
