G Adventures has launched a flexible booking programme designed to be a useful tool for agents and make easier for travellers to “commit to the adventure of a lifetime”.
The three options in the new Stay Flexy Adventure Plans are ‘Flexy’, ‘Flexier’ and ‘Flexiest’ and offer different cancellation terms and pre-departure benefits.
The ‘Flexiest’ plan offers a full refund and deposit if a trip is cancelled more than 60 days before departure, or a 50% refund with the remainder split between a deposit and future credit if cancelled between 59 and 21 days before departure.
Between 20 and five days before, customers on this plan will keep a deposit and future travel credit and can retain the deposit subject to cancellation fees if the trip is cancelled four days or less beforehand.
Additional benefits include a 3GB travel eSim, lost luggage protection up to $1,000, priority service and double the number of trees grown on their behalf while on the trip.
The ‘Flexier’ plan offers longer cancellation windows and more future travel credits.
If a trip is cancelled on this plan between 59 and 30 days before departure, the customer is entitled to a 50% refund and the remaining amount will be split between a deposit and future credit .
This changes to a deposit and future credit for the full amount paid if cancelled between 29 and 21 days before or keeping the full deposit on file subject to cancellation fees if cancelled 20 days or less.
Other benefits include a 1GB travel eSim, lost luggage protection up to $500, priority service and double the trees grown on their behalf while away.
The ‘Flexy’ choice is G Adventures’ standard option which provides a full refund for cancelling trips more than 60 days away, a 50% refund for cancellations between 59 and 30 days ahead or keeping a deposit if cancelled 29 days or less beforehand.
Brian Young, managing director for EMEA, said: “Booking an adventure should be exciting, not daunting, and these new flexible booking options provide agents with another tool to help turn ‘I’m thinking about it’ into ‘I’m booking it’.
“That final moment of hesitation is often driven by uncertainty, rather than a lack of desire to travel. Flex helps remove that uncertainty and offers travellers peace of mind when they lock in their adventure.”
He added: “Flex is commissioned at the same rate as the tour itself and is non-refundable, meaning commission is protected, making it a great earning opportunity for our agent partners.
“Trip add-ons, such as pre or post nights or transfers, added at a later date, are also automatically protected by an existing flexible booking option at no extra cost. It’s designed to be a genuinely useful product for agents, not another thing to explain at the point of sale.”
