Global plan to start next year

GLOBAL Travel Group's initiative to recruit non-travel retailers to the organisation will kick off at the start of next year.

 

Founder George Begg said it wanted to target existing agents, like ARTAC and Advantage members, to sign up before moving outside the travel industry.

 

He recently announced plans to persuade non-travel retailers to join the group as a way of boosting membership from the current 560 outlets to 1,000 shops over two years.

 

Begg said that outside retailers wanting the travel business would be given the choice of having Global sell holidays on their behalf, or doing it themselves on a franchise basis.
