LOW-COST carrier Go is to axe its Stansted to Lisbon service in order to accommodate eight new routes to leading tourist destinations from its second base at Bristol International Airport.
A Go spokeswoman said the daily Lisbon service, which will cease from May 22, was unprofitable and had been axed to keep costs down.
From May 22 daily services from Bristol will see Go fly to Nice, Faro in Portugal’s Algarve and Palma Mallorca. From May 23, the carrier will fly to Alicante and Malaga. Services from Bristol to Ibiza will start on June 15, and routes to Barcelona and the Italian capital, Rome, will commence on July 15.
Flights go on sale immediately and will be available until September 15, after which Go will launch its winter schedule.
Prices, which are return and include all taxes, vary from £65 for Nice and Barcelona to £95 for Ibiza, Alicante and Faro
