Government urged to give T5 its blessing

BUSINESS leaders have urged the Government to approve the construction of a fifth terminal at Heathrow.

Chairman of pro terminal five pressure group Business for T5 Sir Christopher Benson said: “The excellent air links at Heathrow are essential to London’s position as a leading business location. Such factors are hugely important to international businesses, so if terminal five is delayed much more the UK as a whole risks losing out.”

The Government yesterday received a report with a recommendation on whether to build the terminal. Ministers are to study the document and are expected to make a decision on whether to build the terminal next year.
