THE ASSOCIATION of Greek Travel Agents is aiming to change the young and hip clubbers’ image of Cypriot resort Ayia Napa with a UK public relations drive.
AGTA’s tour operator and travel agent members believe recent images of Ayia Napa as a European clubbing capital need to be balanced with more information about the area’s family resorts, good beaches and quality hotels.
An AGTA spokesman explained: “Ayia Napa needs to retain its family appeal. It cannot survive as a clubbers resort and its is the aim of all AGTA members to ensure that Ayia Napa finds a balance in order to maintain sustainable tourism.”
AGTA has appointed a public relations company to kick off its plans.
