Guernsey gains British Airways Heathrow connection

Guernsey is to gain access to British Airways’ global network via a new air link to Heathrow.

Year-round flights from the Channel island have been scheduled to start on April 19, 2026.

The daily service will run to BA’s Terminal 5 at Heathrow where the majority of the airline’s global flights operate from.

The disclosure came less than a week after the failure of Jersey-based Blue Islands which operated inter-island services as well as flights to the UK mainland.

Fares on the Guernsey route start at £45 one-way and £119 in business class.

The new route operated by Airbus A319 aircraft enhances BA’s domestic connections from Heathrow including Jersey, which is also served by BA Euroflyer from Gatwick.

Guernsey lost its first direct link with Heathrow in 20 years when a Flybe service was suspended in 2020 prior to the collapse of the carrier in January 2023. 

The Guernsey connection is one of two new BA short-haul routes being added for next summer.

The introduction of a seasonal service to Tivat in Montenegro from May 14 will bring BA’s short-haul network from Heathrow up to almost 100 destinations.

“As the only direct service between Heathrow and Guernsey, the route will offer conveniently timed connections to more than 20 European destinations, providing greater choice and flexibility for both leisure and business travellers alike.”
