FORMER P&O stalwart Gwyn Hughes has confirmed he will stand for the ABTA presidency – although his bid depends on him finding a job.
Hughes, who left the cruiseline earlier this month, can only stake a claim for the post if he is employed by an ABTA-recognised travel agent or tour operator. It’s rumoured he’s likely to take a post at P&O Travel this week.
Travelscene sales director John Harding and ABTA aviation committee chairman Sandy MacPherson are also standing.
