Haji-Ioannou to step down as easyjet chairman

STELIOS Haji-Ioannou is to step down as EasyJet’s chairman when it holds its next annual general meeting.

Haji-Ioannou is making the move so he can concentrate on other business interests. He is to be replaced by former Vickers Defence Systems deputy chairman Sir Colin Chandler.

Haji-Ioannou will retain his stake in the company, although has not ruled out selling some of it to finance his other businesses. No date has been set for the company’s next AGM.
