Hurtigruten has appointed Ellie Webb from Princess Cruises in the newly created role of senior sales manager for the UK and emerging markets.
Webb will join the business in late June and report to recently appointed sales director Matthew Stuart, where she will support Hurtigruten’s trade sales strategy across the UK and selected emerging markets.
Working alongside key travel partners, she will focus on “driving continued growth, strengthening strategic relationships and developing the existing team further”.
Webb brings more than 20 years’ sales experience, including a decade within the cruise sector with Carnival UK and 12 years in fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG).
At Carnival she worked across P&O Cruises, Cunard and Princess, most recently as UK sales manager at Princess.
Hayley Moore, vice-president of sales and marketing for the UK and emerging markets at Hurtigruten, who also switched from Princess, said: “We’re delighted to welcome Ellie to the team as we continue to build momentum across the UK and emerging markets.
“Her depth of experience across both cruise and FMCG, combined with her strong commercial focus and passion for partnership, makes her a brilliant fit for Hurtigruten.
“Ellie’s appointment reflects our continued investment in the trade, and she will play an important role in expanding our reach and supporting our partners as we continue to grow.”
Webb said: “I’ve always admired what Hurtigruten stands for, particularly its commitment to supporting local communities and its genuine care for people, nature and livelihoods.
“It’s a particularly exciting time for Hurtigruten across the UK and emerging markets. I’m really looking forward to playing a part in its continued growth, as well as working alongside such a passionate and experienced team.”
Yas McKechnie, sales director for the UK, Ireland and EMEA at Princess Cruises, described Webb’s contribution to the business as “exceptional” as she wished her well in her next move.
