HX (Hurtigruten Expeditions) recently hosted 43 UK agents on its ship Fridtjof Nansen in Hamburg.
The visit formed part of the expedition line’s largest trade showcase which brought together 180 agents from the UK and central Europe.
During the ship’s turnaround day in port, members of the UK trade were given guided tours, including its science centre, alongside presentations from chief executive Gebhard Rainer, scientific director Verena Meraldi, Antarctica ambassador Tudor Morgan and expedition leader Torstein Gaustad.
Topics ranged from HX’s sustainability and education initiatives to the nature of immersive expedition travel.
Agents attending from the UK were a combination of invited agents and those who had applied for a spot on HX’s social media pages.
This comes as HX has confirmed it has now become a member of trade body Clia UK to “further strengthen” its ties with the trade.
Mark Walter, HX head of sales UK, said: “Bringing our UK trade partners aboard MS Fridtjof Nansen is more than just a ship tour - it’s an immersive introduction to the world of expedition cruising.
“Our travel trade partners are absolutely central to HX’s success, and experiences like this give them the insight and confidence to truly bring our product to life for their clients.”
