Specialist agency Iglu Cruise is introducing an apprentice cruise travel consultant scheme.
A recruitment drive is targeting 12 school leavers aged 16 and over with at least four GCSEs, including English and maths.
An assessment day is scheduled for early July, with successful candidates starting in September.
Apprentices will be based at the company’s headquarters in Portsmouth and will participate in a 16-month Level 3 scheme, including direct access to mentorship from industry experts and a “high-energy” team environment.
For the first nine months, apprentices will build a service foundation, mastering global geography and complex booking mechanics while cultivating a customer-centric mindset.
They will move into sales excellence in the final seven months, developing consultative selling skills and managing their own portfolios of cruise holidays.
Iglu Cruise head of talent and development Alex Head said: “We are truly excited to be launching such a practical programme at Iglu Cruise.
“We invite local young people to apply to join one of the world’s leading travel brands, to learn from the very best, and to receive a brilliant grounding in the world of work.
“We’re thrilled to be able to bring this opportunity to Portsmouth and hope it is the start of a long-term programme.”
