Iglu Ski team completes superhero-themed triathlon

A team from Iglu Ski has raised more than £700 after taking part in a superhero-themed triathlon.

The team, comprising agency managing director Simon McIntyre and his family, as well as Paralympian Jeanette Chippington, completed the Superhero Tri at Dorney Lake near Warwick on Saturday (August 15).

Their efforts raised more than £700 for Disability Snowsport UK, which will help 15 adults or children learn to ski at an indoor slope in the UK.

McIntyre said: “I just couldn’t resist joining in the Superhero fun at Dorney Lake this year. It’s such a privilege to raise money for adaptive skiing and snowboarding, and I hope we can do it all again next year.”

Congratulating the team, Fay Strathmerren, fundraising officer at Disability Snowsport UK, said: “The money you’ve raised will help Disability Snowsport UK continue creating opportunities for disabled children and adults to experience the freedom, confidence and community that adaptive skiing and snowboarding can bring.”

During Saturday’s event, Chippington completed the 150m swim and McIntyre’s daughter Rose completed the 3km cycle, while her younger sibling Elsie completed the 1km run alongside McIntyre and his wife Kelly.

Jeanette’s husband Stewart was a “sidekick”, as was Iglu’s head of public relations Louise Newton.
