Emirates and partner SriLankan Airlines have teamed up to launch a new joint frequent-flyer programme. The new scheme, which is called Skywards, also enables passengers to earn miles with non-airline firms such as Budget Rent A Car. The two airlines have opened one of five global centres in Manchester to serve members.

n hoverspeed opens new executive lounge
Hoverspeed has opened the first of its airport-style executive lounges on mainland Europe at the International Hoverport in Calais. The new lounge is part of a revamp of its 1st Premium travel product. A second lounge at the operator's Belgian terminal in Ostend is due to open next month.
