An agent with Independent Travel Experts (ITE) is set to appear on TV screens next year in an episode of A Place in the Sun.
Adele Land, who runs Adelpha Travel through The Travel Network Group’s homeworking arm, has lived in Mojácar, Spain, for 25 years.
Working in an office shared with her husband, owner of a real estate business, Land sells trips to expats seeking travel beyond Spain.
The producers of Channel 4 show A Place in the Sun asked her husband to help with property viewings, which prompted her own participation in filming.
“When the production team were in the office, we got talking and they asked me if I would be happy to be the local expert for the particular episode,” she said.
“We filmed in a local beach bar and the presenter Jean Johansson really made me feel at ease.”
The episode, which was filmed several years ago, is due to air in spring.
Land started in the travel industry in 1988, working as a holiday rep and then an area manager in various resorts before flying long-haul with British Airways for 12 years.
When she and her husband moved to Mojácar, she worked as a journalist for the local English-language newspaper and a business-to-business magazine group.
She then decided she wanted to return to the travel industry without moving back to the UK.
“I joined ITE in March 2024 and the business has grown so quickly I can’t quite believe it,” she said.
“I’m also a councillor in Mojácar, the only non-Spanish member of the council, so I guess that helps my expertise in the area,” she added.
