Inspiretec founder Simon Powell to step down as chief executive
Inspiretec founder Simon Powell will step down as chief executive in the autumn, when he will be succeeded by Richard Baker.
The transition follows the Cardiff-based company’s sale to Juniper Group last year for an undisclosed sum.
Inspiretec said Baker, the current chief commercial officer, has been working closely with Powell to ensure a “smooth” handover.
Powell said: “With the business stable and well-placed for its next chapter, this feels like the right time for me to step down and turn to my other business interests.”
He described Baker as the “natural choice” to succeed him, adding: “He knows our customers, our people and our technology intimately, and the business will be in excellent hands.”
Inspiretec, which provides digital solutions for travel brands, said customers and partners would see “no change” to their relationships or support following the transition.
Baker said: “I’m honoured to be taking on the leadership role at a business I’ve been part of for more than 10 years.
“My focus is firmly on continuity – the relationships our customers value, the people who deliver for them every day, and the roadmap we are committed to.
“Backed by the Juniper Group’s long-term ownership and its support for businesses to operate independently, we have a tremendous platform to keep building on.
“I want to thank Simon for his leadership, and to reassure our customers and partners that what they value about working with Inspiretec will remain firmly in place.”
