Jet2 reports rising level of multigenerational holiday bookings

Jet2 has identified strong demand for multigenerational holidays with an increasing number of family group bookings.  

New booking data shows that “thousands” more package bookings for multigenerational holidays travelled between August 2025 and July this year than the same period 12 months earlier.

Groups of five or six people are the most commonly booked as more families bring  grandparents on holiday.

The Canary Islands was the top destination for family groups followed by Turkey, the Balearic Islands, Greece and mainland Spain.

Separate research among Jet2 travellers found that more than four in ten (43%) said they chose a location because it was suitable for their party, while the same proportion opted for somewhere they had visited before.

Weather (42%) and affordability (34%) were also among the biggest considerations.

Jet2 chief customer officer David Hills said: “The traditional family holiday is changing for many people, with more grandparents, parents and children choosing to make memories together in the sunshine.

“Our extensive programme of flights and holidays makes it easy for families to find a holiday that works for everyone, so they can spend less time worrying about the logistics and more time enjoying being away together.”
