Jet2holidays has invested more than £100,000 in high street agencies as part of its its Scale Up Your Street initiative.
It is one year since the final pitch event for the campaign, which has now helped eight independent travel agents open new retail stores, with three more in the pipeline.
Launched in March 2025, the initiative supports agency partners with store openings or transitioning from non-retail into physical stores. As well as financial contributions, the scheme offers expert advice, mentorship and training for agents.
After receiving hundreds of entries, a shortlist was drawn up, inviting agents pitch their ideas to an industry panel.
The panel comprised Alan Cross, travel agent relationships director at Jet2holidays; Nicola Park, owner and director of Seaside Travel; and Don Bircham, franchise owner of Hays Travel Mold.
Those which have opened under the scheme include:
• Craig Travel in Kendal – the sixth store under the Admiral/Craig Travel brand, which opened in January 2026.
• Best Destination in Great Harwood – the agency’s second store opened in September 2025.
• Go Ben Travel Culcheth – the second Go Ben Travel store opened in July 2025.
• Chester Travel – the third store under the Buckley Travel brand opened in June 2025.
• Halstead Travel – Arline Sloan’s first retail store opened in Halstead in September 2025.
• Wicstun Travel – the third store under the Beverley Travel umbrella, which opened in Market Weighton in June 2025.
• Cotton Travel Bawtry – the second Cotton Travel store opened in November 2025.
• The Good Travel Co, Dumfries – the second Good Travel Co store opened in May 2025.
Future store openings being supported by Jet2holidays through Scale Up Your Street include Idle Travel, planning its second store in Saltaire, plus Sunlounger Travel and Perfect Getaways, both due to open soon.
Cross said: “Our Scale Up Your Street campaign has been a phenomenal success, and we have been genuinely inspired by the passion, creativity and commitment shown by agency partners and homeworkers.
“As a result of this innovative campaign, Jet2holidays has invested over £100,000 into independent travel agents and homeworkers to help them open new retail stores, which is a true demonstration of our commitment to supporting them.
“We are incredibly excited to watch our partners succeed and will continue to support them as they open their new stores.”
Other agencies which are looking to grow, open a shop, or need support are urged to contact the travel agent team at Jet2holidays.
