Norwegian Cruise Line’s marketing director for the UK, Ireland, Middle East and Africa is leaving the business after more than eight years.
Karen Sequeira, who has led the cruise line’s regional marketing strategies since joining the company in 2017, announced her departure in a social media post, stating the time has come to “move on to a new chapter”.
During her tenure at NCL, Sequeira was responsible for driving marketing strategies across the UK and Ireland, Middle East and Africa regions while collaborating with international teams across the US, Europe and Latin America.
Reflecting on her time with the brand in a LinkedIn post, Sequeira said: “It has been a genuine privilege to lead the marketing strategy... I am immensely proud of what we have achieved together – strengthening brand awareness, driving consumer demand, supporting our valued trade partners, and contributing to the continued growth of an exceptional global brand.”
She added: “To everyone I have had the pleasure of working with over the years, thank you for your support, collaboration, trust and friendship.
“I have been fortunate to work alongside some truly talented people, and the relationships and experiences gained will stay with me moving forward. I leave with enormous gratitude and pride, and I look forward to watching Norwegian Cruise Line continue to go from strength to strength.”
Sequeira has not yet confirmed her next role.
An NCL spokesperson said: “We can confirm that Karen has left the business. We thank her for her contribution and the positive impact she has had on our business in the last eight years. We wish her well for the future.”
