Kuoni has expanded its Passport to Africa training with a three-part virtual webinar programme for agents across the UK.
Africa has been one of Kuoni’s fastest-growing destinations, with bookings for 2027 up 21% year on year.
The tour operator brought back its in-person Passport to Africa agent training sessions in June as part of a wider investment in supporting trade partners amid strong demand for Africa.
They followed the success of last year’s sessions and aim to give product knowledge and sales support.
The new series of Passport to Africa sessions will run online on September 10, 17 and 24 and give insight into Kenya, Tanzania and South Africa as well as beach add-ons including Zanzibar.
The virtual format will mean trade partners nationally can take part, giving more agents access to the training, which also features a new module on ‘Africa beyond safari’ in response to growing interest in Zanzibar and multi-centre Africa itineraries.
Trade engagement executive Matt Sole will host the September programme which will include practical selling tips as well as destination knowledge into some of Africa’s most popular safari and beach combinations.
Trade partners who take part in the training will have the chance to win a £50 voucher at each session.
The first session, Why Kuoni? Kenya Spotlight, is at 10am on September 10, and will introduce the operator’s Africa programme, including what sets the company apart, destination expertise and an in-depth look at Kenya.
The second session, Tanzania and South Africa, at 10am on September 17, looks at Kuoni’s most popular Africa destinations, the experiences they offer and how to match them to agents’ customers.
The final session, at 10am on September 24, covers Africa Beyond Safari, a new addition to the programme.
This focuses on how trade partners can enhance safari holidays with experiences and destination extensions, including an in-depth look at Zanzibar and its growing appeal beyond the traditional beach break.
This session will be attended by Kuoni’s Africa product manager Helen Austin.
Head of trade partnerships Sarah Weetman said: “Following the fantastic response to our Passport to Africa training earlier this year, we wanted to make the programme accessible to even more trade partners by taking it online.
“Africa remains one of the most exciting and fastest-growing areas of our business, and we’re seeing increasing interest in itineraries that combine safari experiences with beach destinations such as Zanzibar.
“These sessions are designed to give trade partners the knowledge and confidence they need to create incredible Africa holidays for their customers, while showcasing the breadth of experiences available across the continent.”
Agents can sign via the operator’s trade portal Kuoni Connect.
